The Yarra Valley’s forests of giant Mountain Ash are fortunately home to this rare and special Greater Glider. These remarkable possums can glide up to 100m through the treetops and are the largest gliding possums in the world! When you book this 3-night package at The Burrow at Wombat Bend, it comes with the guarantee of seeing a Greater Glider on your private Eco-Adventure Night Walk with a local spotter in the Yarra Ranges National Park. With the brightest eyeshine of any animal in the trees, the greater gliders are distinctive due to their hugely long tails, big ears and extra fluffy fur – and yes, they ARE pretty adorable.

It’s a one-off magical experience, having a local guide who brings the night forest alive and you’ll see/hear Boobook Owls, Sugar Gliders, several species of frogs, insectivorous (micro) bats, sleeping Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, Bare-nosed Wombats, and Black Wallabies.
