Amenities

Is The Burrow heated?

You’ll be snug and warm in The Burrow with instant heat at the touch of a button – we even have electric blankets on the bed for you.

How many does The Burrow sleep?

The Burrow is ideal for a solo traveller or couple, with a deliciously comfy queen size bed, and we can make up a sofa bed for an additional person. As we have three resident dogs and a large billabong, babes in arms are welcome however the property is not suitable for young children to come and stay.

Do you have wi-fi and a TV?

Yes, you’ll have free wi-fi during your stay and there’s a TV & DVD player.

Do you have an open fire?

We certainly do, right on the banks of the billabong – we even provide marshmallows (on the house) for you to toast over the fire.

Do we need to bring linen or towels?

No need to bring a thing – all linen, towels even bathrobes are provided including Melrose organics soap & shampoo.  And in the living room, plenty of snuggly rugs and cushions, a really comfy sofa daybed by the windows, and a desk with a view over the billabong.

Food

What will I find in the pantry?

Everything you’ll need if you’re self catering – oils, vinegars, sugar, salt, pasta, cereal etc

Do you provide meals?

Yes, we provide generous breakfast provisions for your entire stay (sourced locally where we can), topped up as needed. And, we offer a selection of chef-cooked meals for you to pre-order, ready for you to re-heat and enjoy at your will.

Do you have a coffee machine?

We do, and real tea too which you can make in a teapot!

Can we self cater?

Yes absolutely, the kitchen is fully equipped and you’ll find an easy to use BBQ for summer al fresco dining. You can also pre-order some chef-cooked meals from us, so you don’t have to think about meals while you’re here.

Are there restaurants nearby?

There are. If you want to go out to eat, we are more than happy to recommend places to you and make a reservation for you.

Attractions

What is there to do on the property?

The property is 5 acres, with a large billabong bursting with birdlife. You’ll find binoculars in the cottage that you’re welcome to borrow, and books on birds to help you identify what species you’re seeing. Owners Bill and Sue are happy to help with identification too. The property is full of native plants and majestic trees which again, Bill and Sue are happy to tell you more about as they planted every single one!

Is bike riding possible?

Yes, bring your bikes, there are fabulous trails! Or hire locally, as we can easily arrange that for you.

Are you close to any wineries?

Is 3 minutes close enough?! De Bortoli winery is literally just up the road, as are many Melba Highway cellar doors, and you’ll find a map of all the wineries you can visit, in your burrow.

Are there good tours we can do?

Absolutely – our region is famous for its cool climate wine, cider, gin & beer. And in addition to alcohol, if you’d like to experience a range of our local delicacies – cheese, chocolate, art galleries and gardens, we can arrange a tailored tour for you so you get to see what interests you.

Do you offer a favourable rate for longer stays?

Yes, if you’d like to stay for 4+ nights, please contact us so we can offer you mates rates.

Do you ever offer special deals or packages?

We do yes, check here to see if we have any current offers.

Are you open all year?

We are, why not join us for Christmas!

What are your booking and cancellation conditions?
Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately no, because we are a Land for Wildlife Sanctuary.

Do you ever allow single night stays?

We don’t, no (one night simply wouldn’t be long enough!)
